Wow, I wish I had the same luck with Qwest as everyone else. They've done me wrong pretty much every way they can. First, when I called to set up the installation, they didn't set it up on the expected due date, so I had to call and see what was going on. Then they said that they would get out to my place whenever they got around to it, but they could not estimate an approximate day. When they finally came out and got us set up two weeks later, none of the computers would work wirelessly/hardwired on the service, so I spent literally hours and hours on the phone with tech support in a period of several days trying to get it going and after all that time trying to get things up and going they determined that they had no idea why three of the two computers would not work on the service. The other two computers were also laptops, so they all ready has wi fi built in. To make matters worse, one of the usb adapters they sent me was faulty. For some reason the network disk would not properly install the driver. Finally, after trial and error I got things going on my own. Then I got my bill and oooooooh was I mad. The modem they sold me was supposed to be on special for $49, but on my bill they put it as $100. Then they were supposed to give me the service for $26 a month with a two year contract and bundled with my phone service, but on my bill the were charging me much more. As if that wasn't bad enough, they charged me for time (about two weeks) that I wasn't even able to use the internet after it was activated because they were having problems getting me set up, If I was able to get it going through trial and error, obviously the techs should have known how to fix the probs right away. Now one of the computers still doesn't work wirelessly and I was misled big time about my charges. They also charge a lot for shipping and handling. $10 for two usb modems that were shipped in the same box? That's just crazy. I will admit that the surfing is fast, the prob is mostly about the reps and their lack of knowledge about their product.

As technology changes the prices of things come down- well, I am waiting for the prices of DSL to come down more. If I did not have to have DSL because of a partnership website, I would go back to dial up. Qwest is by far the best company around- I have tried others and even local Comspan- and was never happy. Qwest's customer support, when you get done with the long wait is wonderful. I have had to call in my share of times and every person I have gotten offered the best customer support ever. I have noticed that their "bundles" for phone, cable, cell phones and long distance are actually pretty good deals. My biggest complaint is the price. Tammy www.DCFree.org www.DouglasFreeTrade.com

Qwest is a little expensive but they do have the fastest web connection speed. Sometimes the customer service needs to be better but most of the people are very helpful. You can't beat the speed and for a faster connection speed Qwest has the best price and service. www.amandassoapsandsweets.net

I've had Qwest DSL for several years now. There price is pretty much unbeatable when you order DSL with phone service. They have several different speeds depending on your needs. I've never had any trouble with the service going down or anything. I do know around here its a good idea to keep a close eye on your billing statement. Also if you purchase their services make sure to ask them what your bill will be for the first month and any connection fees. I think with me they prorated a month and then billed it along with the second months bill. This is perfectly fine if your ready for it but it catches some people off gaurd. Modem rental is $5/month. Any billing or support calls can be a pain in the neck unless you like listening to elevator music but I think they're just about the best bet for price and once you have DSL you'll never go back to dial-up exepting a catastrophe.
